Chronograph Watches - an invention with great timing
Posted December 15th, 2009 by danChronograph watches first appeared around 1910, and were introduced as wrist watches, although they were often referred to as stopwatches. The chronograph became a fashionable and ‘must-have’ accessory - a status symbol for the age, not too dissimilar to the Iphone of the modern era.
It wasn’t until the 1990s that the style became accessible to everyone, when the Swatch watch company began producing affordable chronographs that sold in vast numbers. In today’s watch market, you would struggle to find a manufacturer who didn’t have one in its range.
December Competition Winner
Posted December 8th, 2009 by TimHi everyone, we had a massive number of entries to our December competition and the lucky winner was Mr N. Master from Cheltenham - he chose a Kurt Zeiss Shadow - good choice!
We are hoping to get a photograph of the winner with his watch and will post it here soon if we do.
Keep an eye out for our next competition starting very soon.
Best wishes,
Tim.
September Competition Winner
Posted December 2nd, 2009 by TimHi everyone, our competition winner in September was a Ms. Alban in Cambridgeshire. She chose a Kurt Zeiss Ladies Elegance.
I have aksed for a photo of the winner with her watch and if she sends one in, we'll display it here.
There is another competition running right now on our website which closes on 7th December. It is pretty easy so have a go and enter and you might win too.
And so it's crystal clear, there are no delivery charges for the competition winner, nor for anyone who buys a watch - delivery is free - that's why we state that on the homepage - as the meerkat says - simples!
